Strong bookings for World Flower Council Summit in Brisbane

Flowers Weekly, the e-newsletter for the cut flower industry, announced today that as registrations for the World Flower Council Summit in Brisbane this September climb past 150, early-bird rates will end at the end of this month.

There is still time to book for the entire four day event or for those with more limited time we have developed a one-day program on Wednesday 19th September to accommodate working florists who don’t want to miss out.

The day will kick off with the official opening of the event plus a demonstration by the inimitable Marco Appelfeller. After morning tea the program will split into two streams being the floral demonstration stream and the business seminar program. This will include demonstrations by the award winning Matthew Landers and multi-talented Elise Rosen, an insight into the unique skills of Tijn Meulendijks and also from floral guru Bart Hassam finishing with a show from the delightful Julia Rose.

The business seminars will kick off with a Retail Floristry Masterclass from Tim Huckabee from the United States in his first tour of Australia, a presentation from Shauna Larsen on costing your products, an update on Social Media and Marketing by Bek Drayton and a discussion of using Alternatives to Plastics in Floristry by Linda Springett from Auswrap. Amy Gurling will discuss the secrets of Going Large with Wedding Floristry, Kim Dodwell and Brendan Nolan of Northside Flower Markets are discussing the options for diversifying your retail offerings and Andrea Caldecourt will cap off the day with tips on how to turn past customers into repeat customers.

All of this will be hosted in Brisbane’s newest hotel venue the W Brisbane and will include a trade show from some of Australia’s biggest companies servicing the Australian florist sector and large floral installations to wow visitors as well. Not a bad day for just $160!
