The AIPH Spring Meeting 2024 took place from 3-7 March 2024 in Doha, Qatar, alongside Expo 2023 Doha.
Guests had the chance to experience the first AIPH-approved World Horticultural Expo in a desert climate – Expo 2023 Doha Qatar. With a theme of ‘Green Desert, Better Environment’, the Expo showcased the latest greening techniques to prove that a green desert is possible.

City greening solutions for arid environments
Arid environments present many challenges for sustainable and liveable green cities, but the use of nature can provide solutions. The AIPH Green City Conference, held in Doha, Qatar, explored how plants can be used to address the issues in hot, dry environments and how this knowledge can be expanded to other cities around the globe.
Innovations in water management for ornamentals production
The supply of sufficient, good quality water is vital for the survival of the ornamentals production industry. This was already challenging in many countries and now, with climate change, the challenges are even more widespread. The industry needs to innovate to survive where water is scarce and to adapt to legislative pressures on supply and pollution prevention.

The USA has applied to host Expo 2031 Minnesota, an A1 World Horticultural Expo. With a theme of ‘Human/Nature: Where Humanity and Horticulture Meet’, Expo 2031 Minnesota will focus on the horticultural solutions to human needs.
AGES is a non-for-profit-making organisation based in Switzerland which has been formed to become the label for quality and reliability for temporary infrastructure works for major events.
