The AIPH Green City Case Study Collection brings together inspiring examples of how cities around the world are harnessing the power of plants to create greener, healthier, and more resilient urban environments. Showcasing initiatives from diverse climates, cultures, and communities, each case study demonstrates how strategic investment in urban greening can address local challenges while delivering lasting environmental, social, and economic benefits.
The collection draws on two important AIPH initiatives. It includes case studies developed as part of the 2020 AIPH Green City Guidelines to demonstrate the value of integrating plants and green infrastructure into urban planning. Other case studies are drawn from the AIPH World Green City Awards, which celebrate outstanding examples of cities using plants and nature to tackle some of the world’s most pressing urban challenges.
