Beekenkamp Group kicks off construction of a new greenhouse in Maasdijk

Beekenkamp Group, comprised of business units Beekenkamp Plants, Beekenkamp Packaging  and Deliflor Chrysanten, has kicked off construction of a new, 4ha greenhouse designed to grow starter plants of a range of field-grown vegetables.

On Wednesday 1 May 2024, the Group’s board of directors and staff gathered at the building site in Maasdijk to celebrate the company’s new milestone.

Beekenkamp Group’s general director, An Beekenkamp, delivered a speech after which she and the group’s directors symbolically pushed the button to kickstart construction.

Beekenkamp Group invest in this new greenhouse because the current location is outdated.

The new greenhouse will be fitted with the latest technology designed to deliver top quality products, create an efficient and pleasant work environment, and save labour.

A new potting line for the production of field-grown vegetable young plants will help producing vegetable transplants more efficiently and sustainably.

Construction company Hofman has been tasked with the builing of the processing area.

Demolition of the old greenhouses will begin at the end of May. Beekenkamp Group expects the new construction site to be completed by the end of 2024.
