The AIPH Green City Briefing 2024/25 series explored the transformative power of urban greening initiatives. Delivered as a collaboration between the AIPH Green City initiative, the Worshipful Company of Gardeners, and a network of partners, experts, and sponsors, the series brought together global perspectives and practical experience.
Each one-hour webinar demonstrated how well-integrated urban greening delivered measurable benefits for cities, their residents, and nature. Building on the success of the previous three years, the series presented clear evidence and real-world examples of how ‘living green’ can address multiple urban challenges.
The series provided both inspiration and practical guidance, highlighting how the power of plants can support solutions to complex urban issues. Through free, one-hour sessions, the webinars illustrated the link between evidence and practice, offering valuable insights alongside opportunities for discussion and questions. Topics covered included the role of plants in supporting urban parks and communities, shaping urban development policy, and contributing to global biodiversity. Participants were invited to engage with the series and explore approaches to creating more sustainable and resilient urban environments.
