Home > EventsNetherlands > Keukenhof’s 75th anniversary edition attracts 1.4 million visitors in 53 days
This year, 1.4 million visitors from all corners of the world came to view the world’s most famous spring garden, Keukenhof, between 21 March – 12 May 2024.
Prinses Margriet of the Netherlands, the aunt of King Willem-Alexander, officially opened Keukenhof on 19 March 2024.
The flower show is an iconic event steeped in history since its inception in 1949. That year, a group of visionary bulb growers came up with the idea of holding an annual exhibition as a shop window for their products. Seventy-five years later, more than a hundred bulb companies and 600 cut flower and potted plant growers use Keukenhof to show the cream of the ornamental crop to a truly global audience.
With a 20 per cent share, Dutch residents represent the biggest portion of visitors followed by Germany, the United States, the UK and France. Visitors from Asia have returned albeit at a slower pace and have not yet reached pre pandemic levels. Overall, the spring gardens welcomed visitors from more than 100 nations.
In 2025, Keukenhof will be open between 20 March and 11 May.
