HortiContact 2019 attracts over 14,000 visitors

The sixteenth edition of the largest Dutch horticultural fair – HortiContact (February 19-21, 2019) attracted over 14,000 professional visitors.

Participating in the three-day event were 468 exhibitors from home and abroad. Held in conjunction with HortiContact was the third edition of HortiContact Tour, a 2-day excursion for growers from Qatar, Germany, Azerbaijan, Brazil, Russia, Ukraine, Sweden, Mexico, the UK, Turkey, Israel, Poland and Iran, who were offered a behind-the-scenes look at production companies and research institutes. The tour’s last stop was at Wageningen University & Research and the HortiContact show. This year 48 international growers embarked on the HortiContact Tour.

HortiContact is a trade show for greenhouse horticulture that has now been running for sixteen years .  Meeting and networking have always been  important spear points of the exhibition whilst knowledge transfer and innovation have also become increasing important  over the past few years. “Knowledge and innovation are important aspects in addition to networking. And there is a need for it, just look at the interest in the innovation showcase,” says Mariëlle Schonewille, Head of Horticulture of exhibition organiser Easyfairs.

The show’s new layout comprising of different themed-areas (HortiPackaging, Soft Fruit Experience, Fossil Free, Cannabis, Innovation Zone) was greeted enthusiastically by attendees and offered them more room for novelty displays, knowledge sharing and interaction. The show’s top floor was turned into an additional exhibition area.
