AIPH elects a new Vice President

During the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH) Spring Meeting in Doha, Qatar, Members of the General Meeting elected Dr Holly Peng, from China, as its new Vice President.

Dr Peng is a leading expert in the horticultural and landscaping sector, with more than 30 years of experience. She is deeply committed to finding sustainable solutions for urban greening and horticultural Expos, and her work is driven by a desire to create an environmentally friendly coexistence for urban planning.

Dr Peng is currently Deputy Secretary General of the China Flower Association. Through her collaboration with plant researchers at International Horticulture Expos, including Expo 2019 Beijing and China’s participation in A1 Expos in other countries, such as Floriade in the Netherlands, Dr Peng has significantly contributed to the ornamental plants industry.

Dr Peng commented on her election to the AIPH Board, “I am honoured to be elected by the Members, and will strive to strengthen AIPH in its mission as the world’s champion for the power of plants.”

AIPH President Leonardo Capitanio stated, “With Dr Peng on the Board, AIPH’s valuable network in ornamental horticulture will be further developed.”

Dr Peng has been appointed as the new vice president of AIPH, alongside Mr Bill Hardy, who is also chair of the AIPH Green City Committee. He is active in several industry associations, including the Canadian Nursery Landscape Association, HortEducationBC, Canadian Garden Council, and the Green Cities Foundation.
