Warsaw to host XIV ISHS symposium on flower bulbs and perennial plants

The International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS), in association with the Polish Society for Horticultural Science (PSHS), horticultural research institute Institut Ogrodnictwa and the Warsaw University of Life Science today announced the 14th ‘Flower Bulbs 2024’ themed symposium, taking place in Warsaw, Poland between 14 to 17 April 2024.

The four day event will bring together scientist, plant breeders and academia working on ornamental geophytes and herbaseous perennials from the host country Poland and beyond.

The symposium will cover topics on propagation, cultivation and forcing, flowering, postharvest and storage physiology, biodiversity and genetic resources, genetics, biotechnology and breeding, plant protection, use of flower bulbs and perennials in landscaping.

Keynote speakers William Miller from Cornell University, USA, Dariusz Sochacki from the Warsaw University of Life Science, Tomasz Michalik from Vitroflora Poland, Rina Kamenetsky Goldstein from Aro, the Volcanic Centre in Bet-Dagan, Israel, Margeritha Beruto, chair ISHHS division ornamental plants, Italy and Gary Chastagner from Washington State University.
