NAALDWIJK, The Netherlands: Pent-up demand, cool new varieties and merchandising concepts. That sums up the mood at the 2021 Orchid Inspiration Days (8-17 June 2021), the annual open house event of the Dutch orchid industry. Due to the uncertainties associated with Covid-19 and in an effort to protect to best protect participants, the event is open by appointment only. A remarkable journey into the world of the orchid, whereby millions of plants can be admired in the space of eight days. Day one of the annual Orchid Inspiration Days saw 11 growers treating their customers to the cream of the Dutch orchid crop.

Orchid Inspiration Days is a fruitful collaboration between forward-thinking orchid growers who believe that an exciting and creative open house event offers the best opportunity to keep their customers abreast about the newest products, trends and merchandising concepts while giving them a peak behind the scenes at their daily operations. The B2B event takes place in the Westland and Aalsmeer regions, all within a 45 minute driving distance from each other.

Orchid Inspiration Days and the annual FlowerTrials partially overlap allowing visitors from abroad to make extra good use of their visit to the Netherlands.

From Phalaenopsis, Zygopetalum and Brassia to eye-catching packaging, trendy cachepots and clever merchandising concepts, Orchid Inspiration Days truly aims to live up to its name.

Participating in the Orchid Inspiration Days are: Ansu Vanda, Aphrodite Orchidee, Artisan, De Hoog Orchids, GreenBalanZ, Levoplant, OK Plant, Opti-flor, Stolk Flora, and Ter Laak Orchids.

Premiering at the event is specialty orchid grower Inca Orchids from Nootdorp.

Event organisers provide clear guidance on expected attendee behaviours, social distancing and hygiene to people before arrival, when scheduling their appointment, and on arrival, for example, with signage and visual aids.
