OFG’s Zami Africa to source Kenyan flowers directly for cost reduction and improved supply chain

One Flora Group, a Dutch-based conglomerate of flower and plant importers and exporters, seeks to establish a direct supply chain between Kenyan rose and summer flower growers and its customers worldwide. The group’s recently founded Zami Africa branch brings expertise in the supply of goods agreements, customs procedures and consolidated shipping.

The direct sourcing initiative fits OFG’s Next Level Floriculture business strategy and will help reduce costs and improve supply chain efficiency and resilience. It also is a significant step towards shipping roses and flowers directly from Nairobi to customers worldwide.

“Our companies seek to establish a connected supply chain, matching supply and demand, catering to our client’s unique desires. One Flora Group can serve the entire market efficiently and directly from the source. Establishing Zami Africa is perfectly aligned with our business model. We are very delighted to add Zami Africa to our group of companies,” says OFG’s managing director, Flowers, Sven Aertssen.

General Manager Robi Bonanno will oversee the daily operations of Zami Africa. Bonanno brings with him a wealth of expertise in floral wholesale.

One Flora Group sells flowers and plants to retailers, wholesalers and consumers worldwide, generating an annual turnover of more than €400 million. This sales figure places the company among the Netherlands’s top 10 largest floral wholesalers. The management’s ambition is to achieve sustainable and transparent business growth.
