Laguna Plants and Kwekerij Tass  acquire Stricker Plants portfolio of carnivorous plants

WESTLAND, Netherlands: Specialist medinella grower Laguna and calathea grower Tass Nurseries from Wateringen, the Netherlands will acquire from Stricker Plants Nurseries a diversified portfolio of carniverous plants, plus the company’s extensive customer base.

Stricker Plants’ owner Henny Stricker is a specialist grower of quality carnivorous plants for the garden centre industry and retail flowers shops. What once started as a hobby has over the years developed into a large-scale production of Sarracenias, Dionaeas and Droseras.

Stricker, aged 68, is retiring as a professional plant grower after a decades-long career. He is to sell his land in Rijsenhout to his neighhour but will not disappear from the horticultural scene entirely, providing Laguna and Tass horticultural consultation when necessary.

With the acquisition Laguna Plants and Tass Nurseries enhance their product offering as a one stop solution for speciality plants. Laguna Plant will start to grow Sticker’s entire range, while Tass Nursery will focus on Dionaea.

This month, all plants will move from Rijsenhout to Wateringen. The Laguna and Tass will have their first shipments of carniverous plants by the first week of February.
