Global seed breeder Takii  Seeds opens new Türkiye base in Karacabey

Seed breeder Takii has opened a new flower and vegetable seed production site in Karacabey, Türkiye, to provide farmers worldwide with innovative, state-of-the-art seed technology and products.

The opening of the new subsidiary marks a significant milestone for Takii, strengthening its global presence and reinforcing its commitment to providing high-quality seeds to customers worldwide.

The Karacabey seed production site in the Bursa province is fitted with cutting-edge technology and innovative equipment, levelling up Takii’s seed production process of both vegetable and flower seeds.

Prioritising safety and durability, the 61,000 m² site includes offices, poly-roofed greenhouses, and laboratory facilities complying with the highest health, safety, and environmental standards.

The 2.400 m² building’s steel structure is designed to help withstand strong earthquake forces.

The Japanese Ambassador to Turkey, the Mayors of Bursa and Karacabey, MPs and other stakeholders from within the agriculture industry attended the official opening on 22 May 2023. Also present was a large contingent of Takii reps from Japan,  Europe, and Turkey to underline the company’s unified commitment to growth and collaboration.

Yukihiro Saito, Head of Production EMEA at Takii Europe, and Sadettin Tezyener, Branch Manager of Takii Türkiye Bursa, added, “We are excited to be part of Takii’s growth strategy and to contribute to the production of high-quality seeds from our Karacabey facility—a facility we’re proud of, built with the collective effort and expertise of Takii Japan, Takii Europe, and Takii Türkiye.”

The new seed production facility in Bursa complements Takii’s existing foothold in Türkiye, where two important research and development sites are already established in Antalya.
