Dutch flower auction Plantion adds live streaming to its remote buying service KOA

EDE, Netherlands: As of today, Plantion adds live video footage to its remote buying service KOA ( Kopen Op Afstand). The auction process in the bidding room is shown every auction day using four cameras. The possibility to watch live offers important support when buying. In combination with the Plantion delivery service, the auction’s KOA service is now even more attractive.

The introduction of remote buying combined with live streaming is in line with Plantion’s ambition to connect and innovate. Traditionally, the Plantion bidding room has been the ‘heart and soul’ of the company and that still applies. Every auction day, there is a physical auction and clock buyers come to Ede to inspect the products. At the same time, Plantion is working on renewing and improving services and processes. Video images are crystal clear and accessible in two ways: in the programme itself instead of the usual product photos, or on a second screen separate from remote buying. On the second screen, the user can see live images of the three individual clocks and an overview of the entire auction room. The live-streaming makes the auction process much easier to follow and experience remotely. All authorised Plantion customers automatically have a registration code to use KOA.

In line with this innovation, Plantion is also implementing a number of logistical improvements. After purchasing, KOA buyers can indicate when they would like to pick up their purchased items.
