Van den Bos Flowerbulbs appoints new Chief Operating Officer

NAALDWIJK, Netherlands: Dutch-based bulb supplier Van den Bos Flowerbulbs has announced Bas Bakker is its new Chief Operating Officer. Bakker succeeds Hans Kleijwegt who will increasingly focus on business strategy.

Effective from February 1, Bakker has responsibility for the Commerce & Operations within the group. In  the coming months, the new COO will focus primarily on getting to know the world of flower bulbs and its processes. Bas joined Van den Bos Group in December last year.

After studying International Business, Bakker fulfilled a number of commercial positions at the Van Rijn Group (fruit & vegetables), Royal A-ware (cheese, dairy and delicacy) and the Fatels Food Group (fruit & vegetables). In these roles he acquired a wealth of experience in the field of strategy, category management, product marketing, supply chain management and logistics.
