SIVAL France attracts record attendance numbers

ANGERS, France: More than 26,000 visitors made their way to France’s leading agricultural trade show, SIVAL, in Angers two weeks ago (14th -16th January, 2020).

The record-breaking attendance numbers constitute a major turning point for the show, that saw its show floor increase by 4,000m2 in 2020. The 3-day event hosted 700+ exhibitors from home and abroad.

The new extension coupled with a new look layout enabled the SIVAL to reaffirm its position as the leader in events dedicated to the whole of the specialist plant production, horticultural and wine production sectors, as well as market gardening, tree production, seed production…

SIVAL’s leadership is reinforced further thanks to the attractive, forward looking content that was on offer throughout the three days of the show. Resolutely focusing on agro ecology and innovation linked to production techniques in order to promote efficient and sustainable agriculture,  SIVAL gave 4000 participants, in the conference areas and the Forum, the chance to discover the opinions of experts, in order of to find out more about the major challenges facing agriculture.

SIVAL 2020 clearly focused on climate change with a host of conferences touching on the subject. Record levels of participation were also registered for a certain number of conferences. 21 innovations received awards at the SIVAL Innovation Concours, and the Agreen Startup Concours also enabled 5 projects to receive grants for development, thus reinforcing the aim of promoting innovation in the different sectors in order to help agriculture answer societal expectations.

Finally, another milestone was reached at an international level with 55 nationalities present, (compared to 45 in 2019) and 300 highly qualified business rendezvous taking place as part of the Vegepolys Valley International Business Event (VIBE). With an increase in the the number of delegations, the whole of the Top Buyer program was reinforced resulting in numerous discussions for trade creation, and guaranteed publicity for the region’s businesses at an international level. With this target for development, the SIVAL will be continuing its collaboration with foreign Shows like MACFRUT in Italy and the AAFEX in China.

Buoyed by its success, the SIVAL is intending to build on this growth for its next edition, by paying special attention to the visitor’s experience throughout the whole show.

Organisers have already announced the dates for next year: 12th  to 14th  January 2021, Parc des Expositions in Angers.
