Dümmen Orange’s ‘Bluez+’ rose wins coveted award at Proflora 2021 varieties competition

BOGOTA, Colombia: Dümmen Orange, the world’s largest breeder and propagator of cut flowers, bulbs, tropical plants, pot plants, bedding plants and perennials, together with partnering growers, took home the major awards at the Proflora 2021 varieties competition in Bogotá, Colombia.

Long-standing Dümmen Orange customer and rose grower Vuelven SAS won no less than three awards for the Bluez+ standard rose. In addition, seven other Dümmen Orange varieties received awards, underlining the quality of the company’s offer.

‘Bluez+’ is a beautiful two-toned standard rose featuring dark pink edged petals and a soft pink heart. With ‘Bluez+’, Vuelven SAS won awards for Biggest Champion and Growers Champion, and First Place in the Standard Rose category.

Other Dümmen Orange varieties were also successful. Grower Yasa won first and second place in the Disbud Cut Mum category with ‘Maisy’ and ‘Andrea’.

Plazoleta Bazzani won second place with Dümmen Orange’s filler ‘Lady Alba’. Colibri Flowers won with the mini carnations ‘Phantom’ and ‘Mocha Sweet’, and Flores El Capiro with the Cut Chrysanthemum ‘Mia’.

In the Breeder category, Dümmen Orange won with the bicolour standard rose ‘Summerfield’, from Jan Spek Rozen.
