The webinar “Intellectual Property Protection in the Green Value Chain: Practical Guidance” will broadcast live with two identical sessions: 9am and 6pm CET (Central European Time).

Why learn about Intellectual Property for plants?

Receive competitive advantage with IP and the cutting-edge plant innovation – The top tier plant innovations in the green business are protected by Intellectual Property (IP) rights. By knowing your way around IP instruments and leveraging the available IP assets, you gain a competitive advantage in the green market.

Know your rights and obligations – legal language may be a drag but understanding your rights and obligations under the legal IP framework is vital to securing your business, making the right choices, and avoiding legal pitfalls.

Commit to fair business practices – the green IP framework, including Plant Variety Protection, Patents and Trademarks, establishes a level playing field for all participants of the green value chain. By observing and complying to IP regulations, you demonstrate respect for breeders’ work while receiving access to novelties with a price premium on the market.

Why you should attend?

In a globalised economy, managing and protecting IP for plant innovations can be a challenging task. This webinar will provide green sector players with practical guidance and essential knowledge about the plant IP framework outlining the benefits of IP protection for the entire value chain and the common pitfalls. Besides Plant Variety Rights, the webinar will touch upon other IP tools, such as Trademarks, competition law and other legal instruments providing guarantees for the fair business practices in horticulture and agriculture.

With this educational initiative, the organising partners would like to reach out to those in the green value chain who are not yet well-versed in the intricacies of IP but whose daily work requires an understanding of green IP and awareness of IP liability.

Leading the webinar will be Emanuela Truffo partner at Studio Legale Jacobacci & Associati. Emanuela specialises in contentious and non-contentious Intellectual Property matters and commercial litigation across a wide range of local and international practices. She has developed expertise in negotiation and drafting of agreements such as license, non-disclosure, non-compete and coexistence agreements concerning IP rights and copyright as well as for commercial transactions.

Registration for the event is €59. Members and supporters of AIPH and CIOPORA, as well as FCI subscribers, are eligible for the reduced rate of €29.
