VALHOR Welcomes New President and Outlines Its Future Strategy

VALHOR, the French interprofessional organisation for the horticulture, floristry, and landscaping industry and an AIPH Affiliate Member, recently held its Annual General Assembly for 2024, a pivotal event in its yearly calendar. The assembly provided a platform for strategic discussions, updates on industry advancements, and collaboration among key stakeholders dedicated to fostering the growth and sustainability of the horticultural sector in France.

AIPH, as the world’s champion for the power of plants, plays a vital role in supporting growers who form the backbone of the horticultural industry. VALHOR, an inter-professional organisation, represents 45,885 companies generating a combined turnover of €15.3 billion and employing 202,440 professionals, alongside three horticultural schools and ten industry associations dedicated to ornamental horticulture in France. Strong collaborations with Affiliate Members like VALHOR are central to AIPH’s mission. At this assembly, Ms Elena Terekhova, AIPH International Relations Manager, and Ms Van Tran, AIPH Exhibitions Officer, were present to reinforce this shared commitment.

A key moment of the assembly was the introduction of the new president, Florent Moreau. He is widely respected for his sense of community and unwavering commitment to raising the sector’s profile. With nearly 30 years of experience as a master artisan florist, his career showcases a steadfast dedication to the craft, a passion for promoting plants and artisanal expertise, and a deep-rooted commitment to supporting the community. Previously, he served as president of the French Federation of Artisan Florists from 2019 to 2021, where he played a pivotal role in enhancing the sector’s structure and visibility.

In his inaugural speech, Mr Moreau proclaimed, “Plants are essential. They are life!” He extended heartfelt gratitude to outgoing President Mme Catherine Muller, praising her dynamic leadership from 2021 to 2024, which bolstered VALHOR’s identity and laid a strong foundation for future progress. Following his speech, the assembly turned its focus to the unveiling of VALHOR’s strategic roadmap for 2024-2027, a plan that outlines the organisation’s vision for growth and resilience in the coming years.
