The International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH), in collaboration with Union Fleurs – International Flower Trade Association, has released Volume 73 of the International Statistics Flowers and Plants 2025 Yearbook.

This latest edition provides the most comprehensive and trusted overview of global ornamentals production, trade and consumption, presenting the complete dataset for the 2024 calendar year.

Compiled and analysed by the Centre for Business Management in Horticulture and Applied Research at the University of Hohenheim, the Yearbook brings together verified data from more than 40 countries. It offers an essential evidence base for growers, traders, policymakers and associations seeking to understand how markets are evolving and where new pressures and opportunities are emerging.

The 2024 AIPH–Union Fleurs economic development survey reveals a sector balancing resilience with recalibration. Many countries reported softening or stagnant demand compared with 2023, reflecting cautious consumer behaviour and ongoing cost pressures. Labour scarcity, resource prices and unpredictable weather remain key structural challenges in several regions. At the same time, some European markets noted continued interest in resilient plant varieties linked to climate-adaptation initiatives and local planting strategies. These nuanced conditions underline the importance of detailed, comparable international data to support decision-making across the ornamental horticulture value chain.
