CIOPORA Annual General Meeting (AGM) April 22-25, 2013 in Angers; CIOPORA prepares a new Green Paper and CIOPORA launches a new website

CIOPORA will dedicate the full day of her AGM 2013 to internal debate on a new CIOPORA position on Patens and modern PBR in horticulture. CIOPORA is of the opinion that such new position seems necessary because of the far reaching new developments in horticultural breeding in the past decade and the still existing weakness in the IP protection systems for plant innovations. The new CIOPORA position is also intended to update the CIOPORA Green Paper, which is ten years old now. Hereto an discussion paper will be presented to the AGM 2013. The results of this discussion will be incorporated in a new draft to be further discussed in the course of 2013. The final decision on the new CIOPORA position will be made at the 2014 AGM, which will take place in the Netherlands. Ten years ago AIPH has written and published a comment on CIOPORA’s Green Paper 2002 and will receive this new Green Paper with large interest of course. Finally CIOPORA has launched an updated website featuring new content and an all new look (see www.ciopora.org).
