The 77th Annual Congress of the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH) opened on Sunday, 14 September, with a welcome dinner for 110 international delegates at the NH Collection Ghent, Belgium. Guests from across the world gathered to mark the start of five days of discussions, networking, and visits at the heart of Europe’s floriculture sector.
Welcoming delegates, AIPH President Leonardo Capitanio underlined the importance of the Annual Congress as a global meeting point for the industry: “This Congress is where the world of horticulture comes together to share knowledge, set future priorities, and celebrate our achievements. In times of rapid change, collaboration through AIPH is more vital than ever.”
The Congress is hosted by AIPH member AVBS, the professional federation for Flanders’ green industry. Representing around 70% of Belgium’s ornamental growers and traders, AVBS plays a key role in supporting horticulture in the region.
Running from now until 18 September, the Congress agenda spotlights sustainability, technological innovation, and AI in horticulture. Delegates will hear from global experts, receive updates from upcoming AIPH-approved Expos, and explore Belgium’s dynamic floriculture industry through professional tours.
The programme begins today with the International Horticultural Expo Conference and AIPH General Meeting. On Tuesday, 16 September, the focus will be on the International Horticultural Industry Conference.
