Welcome and introduction by the Master of Ceremonies 

Ms CHO Jooyeon will serve as the Master of Ceremonies for the evening.

Welcome by the Director General of IUCN

Dr Bruno Oberle, Director General of IUCN, will give a vote of thanks to the delegates for being at the IUCN Leaders Forum. He will comment on the critical role of cities on the global stage.

Opening address by AIPH Secretary General

Mr Tim Briercliffe, AIPH Secretary General, will welcome attendees to the inaugural AIPH World Green City Awards ceremony.

Welcome by Vice Governor of Administrative Affairs, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province

Mr  Koo Man Seop, Vice Governor of Administrative Affairs for Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, will welcome delegates to Jeju.

First Course

Smoked Salmon with Washabi Cream Cheese Sauce or Fresh Bean Curd and Avocado with Tomato Salsa Balsamic Reduction

Presentation of Certificates of Merit

Mr Bill Hardy, Chair of the AIPH Green City Committee and Chair of the World Green City Awards 2022 Jury, will present the Certificates of Merit. These are presented to cities whose entries did not score highly enough to be selected as finalists, but which demonstrated a particularly innovative and inspiring approach to urban greening that was recognised by the Technical Panel in the first round of judging.

Presentation of Highly Commended Awards

Mr Bill Hardy will present the Highly Commended Awards to the 18 finalists of the AIPH World Green City Awards 2022. The 18 finalists comprise the highest 3 scoring entries in each of the six Award categories by the Technical Panel in the first round of judging.

Presentation of awards to Category Winners

Dr Bruno Oberle and Mr Tim Briercliffe will present awards to the winners of each of the six World Green City Awards 2022 Categories. The categories are:

• Living Green for Biodiversity
• Living Green for Climate Change
• Living Green for Health and Wellbeing
• Living Green for Social Cohesion
• Living Green for Water
• Living Green for Economic Recovery and Inclusive Growth

Presentation of award to Grand Winner

Dr Bruno Oberle and Mr Tim Briercliffe will present the award to the Grand Winner. The Grand Winner was voted by the Jury from the list of six category winners. This award, the most prestigious of the night, is presented to the city who demonstrated the highest capacity for influence, replicability, and scope to inspire change in their entry.
