Wyevale Nurseries hosts inaugural Retail Forum for garden centre customers

Wyevale Nurseries’ Retail Forum with garden centre customers.

UK-based Wyevale Nurseries hosted its first ever Retail Forum with garden centre customers to discuss current market trends and to boost future plant sales.

Wyevale Nurseries invited representatives from plantarias at William Strikes/Klondykes Garden Centres, British Garden Centres, Haskins Garden Centres and Tong Garden Centre to its forum at the end of February.

Head of Business Support at Wyevale Nurseries, Carol Dickinson explains: “It was a brilliant discussion forum with some of our lovely retail customers and a great way to give each other plenty of feedback and support. It was hosted by several key members of our team, who gave short presentations to start each discussion topic.”

For Wyevale Nurseries the day was the first of its kind where buyers from different companies joined the company’s staff to discuss the marketplace.

“Our attendees told us the forum was a great idea and showed a willingness by us to listen to our customers. We hope to hold further similar events this year, so watch this space! If you’d like to attend the next one, which we’re hoping to host in the summer, do get in touch with us to register an interest and we will keep you updated.”

Among those that attended the recent event were Andrew Smith and Jo Cooke from William Strikes/Klondykes Garden Centres, Julian Palphramand from British Garden Centres, Andy Harriss and Richard Lockwood from Haskins Garden Centres and Sharon McNair and Steve Smith from Tong Garden Centre.

Richard Lockwood, Plant Buyer from Haskins Garden Centres, says: “It was a very positive event and hopefully it will lead to increased plant sales for all.”

Wyevale Nurseries’ product selection is envied across the industry and the talented team regularly introduces new, award-winning plant varieties.  Its main business is to supply garden centres, landscape contractors, local authorities, foresters and landowners with a comprehensive array of trees, shrubs, hedging, herbaceous and specimen plants.
