Wholesale plant and cut flower business annexe cash and carry store Waterdrinker, part of Dutch Flower Group, has appointed Linda van Schieveen as its new financial director effective 1 September 2024.
Schieveen will support the company’s management team currently led by Leon Buskermolen, who has been Waterdrinker’s managing director since 1 January 2024.
Schieveen brings more than 15 years of finance and IT expertise from her experience in retail (Lidl, V&D), production and logistics.
In her most recent positions at Royal ERU and Bpost (Active Ants International), she was in charge of Finance & Control.
At Active Ants, she was most recently responsible for improving professionalism and international growth within the company’s finance operation.
Commenting on her new position Van Schieveen says, “I’m very much looking forward to my new role at Waterdrinker, in this dynamic floriculture sector. Together with all colleagues to bring this wonderful organisation even closer to our customers, growers and, of course, our employees.”
Aalsmeer-based Waterdrinker is one of the floriculture sector’s larger trading companies, specialised in house plants, garden plants and cut flowers. Waterdrinker’s 350 employees supply products to a broad range of customers within the Netherlands and across Europe, from florists to large-scale retailers.
Waterdrinker’s strength lies in its enormous range, which includes many new introductions alongside exclusive and exceptional plants that have been developed together with growers and breeders.
In recent years, Waterdrinker has also started turning its attention to providing a specific range of fresh cut flowers.
