Türkiye’s ornamental plant producers open to the world at The Flower and Plant Show

Ornamental horticulture in Türkiye is gaining a greater share in the international market due to the country’s benign climate and geographical conditions, price advantages, logistics, and capability for contracted production according to needs.

The sector, which realised sales of $ 106 million abroad in 2020 and exports approaching $150 million in 2021, aims to close 2022 with $175 million in exports.

Tarsus Türkiye Fair Organization general manager Zekeriya Aytemur said that producers in Türkiye are working on getting a larger share from the $42 billion world ornamental plants trade and announced that they aim to contribute millions of dollars to the sector’s exports by bringing more than 1,000 direct buyers from abroad to The Flower and Plant Show,  to be held for the 12th time. “Within the scope of the overseas buyer programme we initiated, we have committed to Italy, the Turkic Republics, North Africa and the Balkan countries, and especially to Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, which are the most important importer countries of the sector. In addition, a buyer delegation from Iran of sixty people, including officials from the Ministry of Agriculture,  will attend the Fair.” Aytemur noted that the producer partners participating in The Flower and Plant Show 2023 could trade directly with alternative target markets in different geographies.

The Flower and Plant Show, organised by Tarsus Türkiye at the Tüyap Fair and Congress Centre, opens its doors for the 12th time between 16-18 February 2023. The exhibition, expected to be attended by 160 brands, primarily domestic producers, hopes to attract 15,000 buyers, 1,000 of whom are from abroad.

Hundreds of new products, materials, equipment and technologies will be exhibited together, from indoor and outdoor ornamental plants to flower and floriculture materials, from seedlings and seeds to vertical garden applications, from plant care products to landscaping materials, from exotic trees to national plants, and from irrigation equipment to landscape designs and garden accessories.

The Flower and Plant Show 2023 will host thousands of buyers from home and abroad, including representatives from municipalities, public institutions, construction and landscape project companies, touristic facilities and construction markets, and city planners and architects.
