Top Picks and Fresh Genetics: Danziger Wows at CAST 2025

At this year’s California Spring Trials (CAST), Danziger transformed its Gilroy display into a greenhouse of colour, creativity, and innovation, where the energy was as vibrant as the new genetics on show. Visitors were not only treated to a behind-the-scenes look at eye-catching plant combinations and retail concepts but also had a say in highlighting their top picks for the upcoming season.

“CAST is a great opportunity not only to showcase our new genetics, but to connect with our customers and partners,” said Mike Fernandez, Market Manager for Danziger North America. “We’re working hard to create varieties that meet every growers’ need. Our lineup for 2026 really delivers on that promise.”

Blessing Bicolor Lavender

Among the most popular introductions was the BESTIES™ Dynamic Bicolor osteospermum series. Its warm peach and lavender tones sparked excitement, as did its consistent growth habit and bloom timing—perfect for warm greenhouse production alongside other spring annuals.

HARMONY® COLORFALL™ Flamingo, a trailing New Guinea Impatiens, turned heads with its vibrant pink hue and sun tolerance. At the same time, CAPELLA™ Hello Sunshine, a cheerful yellow petunia, was praised for its propagation performance and season-long garden appeal.

Cascadias Purple Ice

Danziger also presented the SOL LUNA PRIME™ hybrid impatiens, noted for its impressive uniformity and early blooming habit—up to a week ahead of standard varieties. These impatiens offer versatility with their ability to thrive in both sun and shade.

The much-anticipated DuraBella® combination mixes for 2027, selected by CAST attendees, was another crowd favourite. These experimental combos are tested to ensure they deliver the goods—from retail shelf to garden container.

While the show was full of floral innovation, Danziger didn’t forget to add a little fun. Attendees could snag a BESTIES™ friendship bracelet or relax at the Amazonas café between greenhouse strolls.

Founded in 1953 and based in Israel, Danziger continues to lead the way in floricultural innovation, with breeding and propagation facilities across the globe. Their mission remains rooted in a blend of science, creativity, and customer-first thinking—producing varieties that are not just beautiful but profitable and reliable.
