This year’s edition of Plantarium 2021 set for 1 – 3 September

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands: Preparations for Plantarium 2021 are underway. At the same time the coronavirus pandemic continues to cause much uncertainty, which means that the decision on whether or not to run a physical trade show in September will be made in March.

Much of Europe is currently engolfed by a second wave of coronavirus cases. Therefore show organiser Beewan stresses that is announcing the event with cautious optimism.

Registration for Plantarium 2021 will  open no sooner than April. By then, participants and visitors will have some certainty about whether or not the fair will actually be taking place.

True to tradition, the trade show will have its Plantarium Building as venue of choice, while the show itself will have a revamped format.
Plantarium has opted for an independent fair which means there will be no co-organisers and parallel events.  Also new this time is that on request of the exhibitors the show moves from August to September.

The participation fees are equal to those of the 2019 edition, keeping the fair accessible and familiar for participants. The layout of the exhibition hall will be decided in the month of May based on the registrations received. As in 2020, the theme of the fair is ‘Greenspiration’. This theme already exceeded expectations in 2020; the digital platform is very popular among more than 15,000 visitors from 73 countries.

Last year, a virtual trade show was the only option available, which unfortunately meant that interaction between participants and visitors was severely limited.

For this year’s fair the organiser has opted for a hybrid version: a physical fair with an online platform, pandemic measures as per March 2021 permitting.

Another recurring event is the KVBC Spring Challenge which was introduced in 2020 and will again take place in the month of June. The set-up will be the same, meaning the event will be held entirely online and the award ceremony will take place in a closed session.
