Sjaak van Schie B.V., a Dutch horticultural business propagating and growing half-finished Hydrangeas in Portugal, has appointed Rob Passchier as its new CEO, effective 1 July 2024.
Rob Passchier succeeds Fidélio Alegria, who has been CEO at the Hydrangea specialist Sjaak van Schie B.V. for the past six months.
After a period of intensive cooperation and full dedication at the company, which has branches in the Netherlands and Portugal, Fidélio Alegria is handing over the baton.
Together with the current management team, Fidélio has led the transition to future-proof the family business.
Now he wants to give the younger generation the space to give more direction to the road ahead, under Rob’s guidance.
The company’s new board of directors now consists of Rob Passchier (managing director), Roel van Schie (operations director) and Mike van Schie (commercial director).
Rob Passchier has held a variety of managerial positions in companies within and outside the horticultural sector. He says, “The role of CEO for Sjaak van Schie B.V. suits me well and I look forward to working in this position together with the team. I see many opportunities for growth and innovation and I find it very valuable to do my bit for the continued success and sustainable development of the family business.”
Roel van Schie expresses his sincere gratitude to Fidélio for his five years of dedication, service and leadership as the general manager of the company in Pegoes, Portugal.
