German breeder Selecta One has introduced a striking new addition to its Dianthus portfolio. ‘It-Girl’ is the latest variety from the Whetman Alpine Range—an eye-catching, hardy perennial with bold, bright pink blooms, a compact habit, and elegant grey-green foliage.

With its wavy petals and subtle picotee edge, Dianthus ‘It-Girl’ offers strong fragrance, repeat flowering, and reliable garden performance. It is drought-tolerant, insect-friendly, and suited to peat-free production—ideal for growers responding to both consumer trends and tightening sustainability regulations. As with all Whetman genetics, ‘It-Girl’ is fully frost-hardy and can be grown in cool conditions.

Positioned as a market trendsetter, ‘It-Girl’ is being supported by a dynamic marketing campaign that aims to appeal to a younger generation of plant buyers seeking style with substance. The variety combines standout visual appeal with production resilience—qualities that make it a compelling option for retail programmes and branded promotions.
