Royal Dutch Paardekooper Group appoints new CEO

Royal Dutch Paardekooper Group, a global supplier of packaging, appointed Ian Rasmussen (48) as the new CEO. Rasmussen has a background in aviation and space technology, and business administration.

In 2015, Ian started as the Operational Director at Moolenaar, a company that supplies packaged bulbs, seeds, and plants to large retailers. He advanced to the role of CEO, a position he has held since 2020. Under his management, Moolenaar grew into a successful business with a strong market position.

Bert van Dongen and Lyanne Paardekooper, the Board of Directors of Royal Dutch Paardekooper Group, are delighted with the arrival of Rasmussen. “Ian is an analytically strong and strategic leader with a tremendous drive to improve. He knows how to connect people and he is open and interested in our organszation and industry. We are convinced that he can lead Paardekooper to the next phase”, says Bert van Dongen, CFO of Royal Paardekooper Group.

The world of packaging is becoming ever more complex. The requirements and demands of society change. Fourth generation Lyanne Paardekooper comments, “We aim to lead the European field in sustainable packaging. Ian shares our vision.”

In recent years, Royal Dutch Paardekooper Group has grown rapidly through various acquisitions. The organisation employs around 900 people internationally and has a turnover of more than €450 million. Paardekooper supplies packaging to companies in food service, retail, industry, floriculture, and the fruit and vegetable sector and operates worldwide in more than 75 countries.
