ANDIJK, Netherlands: Strawberry Summer Breeze Rose is the new sensation in ornamental strawberries. The rose-like double flowers are real eye-catchers.
ABZ’s Summer Breeze Rose retains its colour for a considerably longer period than the single flowered types. The combination of intense colour and fresh summer fruit will give consumers the fresh feeling of a Summer Breeze, says ABZ.
Seeds of Summer Breeze Rose germinate fast and uniform. In 6-7 weeks seedlings develop into strong plug plants.
The new strawberry variety develops a compact, multicrown-plant with very few runners. Double flowers appear 5 to 9 weeks after transplanting. Shelf life of double flowers is a considerable improvement over single flowers.
The variety is now commercially available. In years to come other flower colours will be added.
