Proven PGR option now available to Canadian growers

Growers in Canada now have a proven plant growth regulator (PGR) to add to their plant quality strategy. Concise®, a top choice in PGRs among ornamental producers, is now registered for use in Canada.

“This registration opens the door for Canadian growers to step up their growth control approach with a proven, effective tool backed by years of science and successful commercial greenhouse use,” says Greg Johnson, President, Fine Americas, Inc.

A uniconazole-p growth regulator, Concise is highly effective at low use rates. It reduces plant height by limiting internode elongation, resulting in more desirable, compact and marketable plants. In fact, Concise has been shown to increase plant quality even in the absence of noticeable growth reductions, raising chlorophyll content leading to darker green leaves, increased leaf thickness, stronger stems, improved water retention and at times, increased flower number and size.

Concise is registered for use on a number of ornamental crops including bedding plants, potted plants (flower/foliage), bulb corps (herbaceous and woody), perennials and others. Apply via foliar spray, drench, dip (bulb/liner) or media spray. It is available in 2 liter jugs.

Fine Americas focuses on the development and marketing of plant growth regulators (PGRs) for agricultural and ornamental crops. The company is continually striving for improved PGR technology that answers the demands of today’s quality-conscious growers. Fine is certified to ISO 9001:2008.
