Pöppelmann TEKU® extends its line of fully recyclable plant pots

LOHNE, Germany:  PÖPPELMANN blue® is the initiative with which the Pöppelmann Group commits itself to a closed material cycle. The Pöppelmann TEKU® division specialises in plastic products for commercial horticulture and has developed fully recyclable plant pots from Pöppelmann PCR. The first product series were introduced in 2018. Right in time for the Plantarium from 21 to 23 August 2019, the range has been extended by further popular series.

The focus of the trade fair appearance at Plantarium 2019 will be on PÖPPELMANN blue® – a company-wide initiative by the plastics specialist Pöppelmann, which brings together the activities of all the business divisions that are to promote an integrated recycling economy. As part of PÖPPELMANN blue®, Pöppelmann TEKU® developed fully recyclable plant pots from purely post-consumer recycled material. These achieve a closed material cycle at one and the same stage of the value chain. They are among the first market-ready products of the Pöppelmann Group that were developed as part of the PÖPPELMANN blue® initiative.

The range of fully recyclable plant pots has been continuously expanded since its launch in 2018. It now includes the highly sought after VCG, VCH, VCK and VTG series. The Pöppelmann PCR plastic used in the “Recycling Blue” colour is a purely post-consumer recycled material. It comes entirely from recyclable waste collected by Der Grüne Punkt – Duales System Deutschland (DSD). When they are not needed any more, the plant pots are returned to the recyclable waste collection, ready to be reused in the closed raw material cycle – thus ensuring that the valuable plastic material is handled in a resource-saving manner.
