The international nursery trade is gearing up for the Autumn Edition of PLANTARIUM|GROEN-Direkt, taking place in Boskoop on 27–28 August. Officially approved by the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH), the fair combines a sold-out exhibition floor, record-breaking novelty entries, and headline product launches to create one of the most dynamic editions to date.
Organisers report that pre-registrations have already outpaced last year’s, with a strong showing from both domestic and international visitors. With 73 per cent of attendees directly involved in garden plant purchasing, the event is expected to deliver valuable commercial encounters for growers, breeders, and retailers alike.

This year will see more than 75 plant novelties unveiled across the two-day fair, ranging from striking Buddleja davidii cultivars such as Butterfly Candy Little Cerise to innovative perennials, shrubs, and grasses. These novelties are competing in the Green Retail Awards, alongside entries in the Best Market Innovation and Visitors’ Favourite categories.
Notable contenders include Magnolia figo ‘# Hedgetag’ from Diderk Heinje Baumschulen in the Market Innovation category, and Hebe Varia® Wild Blue by Addenda Growers Association for Visitor’s Favourite. Judging for Best Novelty will be carried out by the KVBC, with awards ranging from bronze to gold medals, before the overall winner is revealed on 28 August.

One of the most anticipated unveilings is Endless Summer® DreamCloud®, a bright white reblooming hydrangea making its European debut at the fair. Bred by Bailey Innovations and tested extensively across Europe, DreamCloud® offers continuous flowering from spring to winter with improved disease resistance and durability. It will be available commercially in 2026 and will compete in the Best Market Innovation category at this edition of the fair.

Beyond the novelties, visitors can expect GROEN-Direkt’s renowned sample fair with 6,000 directly available lots, concept tables, and a Christmas tree showcase. The Green Future Hub will explore pressing retail questions—including whether branding really works in the plant sector—while the Wall of Fame will honour award-winning plants from past years.
With its approachable atmosphere, spacious catering and terrace areas, and free admission, parking, and catering, PLANTARIUM|GROEN-Direkt continues to set itself apart as a must-attend meeting point for the trade.
Organisers say the growing buzz across European social media channels reflects the event’s rising profile. “With so many novelties, new concepts, and international launches, this edition provides a clear view of where the nursery sector is heading,” they note.
Free entry, parking, and catering are provided for registered visitors. More details, including floor plans and exhibitor overviews, can be found on the website www.plantariumgroendirekt.nl
