The second day of Iberflora 2025 at Feria Valencia placed the spotlight squarely on plant health and environmental resilience, with exhibitors demonstrating how innovation and sustainability are shaping the next chapter of ornamental horticulture.

Lively aisles and full stands marked the second day of Iberflora 2025, as professionals explored the latest plant innovations and trends.

A treatment against red palm weevil and pine processionary caterpillars, plants that regenerate dunes, and species adapted to high temperatures to prevent fire damage were among the many examples of how technology and ecology now work in partnership.

Smarter protection and climate-ready planting

Syngenta TreeCare demonstrated its Revive II micro-injection system, designed to protect palms and pines against pests like the red palm weevil without harming the environment.

One of the many outstanding innovations came from Syngenta TreeCare, whose automatic micro-injection system protects palms and pines against destructive pests such as red palm weevil and pine processionary caterpillar. The system delivers precise doses directly into the tree trunk, avoiding chemical drift and ensuring effective pest control that’s safe for people, animals, and the wider environment — a model of biosecure, sustainable practice.

Elsewhere, Vivers Alomá presented native plant species used for dune regeneration, helping stabilise coastal ecosystems and restore biodiversity. The Parks and Gardens Delegation of Valencia City Council showcased fire-resistant and heat-tolerant plants designed for climate adaptation in urban landscapes — a practical demonstration of how resilient planting supports both sustainability and safety.

Designing for biodiversity

Strong business activity continued on Day 2 of Iberflora 2025, reinforcing the event’s role as a leading meeting point for Europe’s green industry.

Sustainability was equally evident in consumer-facing products. Dutch brand Elho showcased a collection of birdhouses, feeders, and insect hotels — all made from 100% recycled plastic — designed to promote biodiversity in homes, schools, and city gardens. Across the halls, exhibitors embraced innovation not as a trend but as an essential part of business and environmental growth.

Trompa Verde celebrates green voices

The day concluded with the Trompa Verde Awards, organised by AIPH Member Asociación de Comercializadores de Planta Ornamental (ACPO), honouring the digital storytellers who inspire new audiences to connect with plants and sustainability.

A sector united by plant health

For the international ornamental community, Iberflora 2025 demonstrated how plant health, sustainability, and innovation increasingly intertwine. From targeted pest management to regenerative planting and biodiversity design, the fair reflects a global shift toward proactive, environmentally balanced horticulture.

As Iberflora moves into its final day, the message is clear: the future of horticulture will be shaped by science, creativity, and care — protecting not just plants, but the ecosystems that sustain them.
