The Greenovation Award 2022 will be announced during the opening day of Trade Fair Aalsmeer on Wednesday, 9 November, at 3 pm in the Royal FloraHolland House. It will be a tough call to judge as the nine shortlisted nominees are offering the following innovative solutions: a hexagon pot optimising space in Phalaenopsis growing; a deposit return scheme for flower buckets; carbon-neutral Mistral Alstroemerias; and Refleur bouquets packed in paper made of natural fibres and placed in a bucket from recycled plastic.

Royal FloraHolland’s panel of expert judges say that the nominated concepts and products really cover all the bases. And praises the companies that are focusing on sustainability. Because there are so many developments in the area of sustainable production and trade. International consumers expect a sustainable product, with producers and traders increasingly seeing its importance too. Nine nominees will battle it out to win the coveted accolade.

Jury chairman Maarten Bánki, Sustainable Development & Quality Manager at Royal FloraHolland, says, “To us, a focus on sustainability and sustainable innovations is of the utmost importance. Becoming more sustainable is necessary in order to remain successful in the future as an entrepreneur. Sustainable innovations are therefore essential. The aim of the Greenovation Award is to provide a platform for the best sustainable product or concept launch within our sector.”
