New plants and new markets at GREEN IS LIFE 2025

GREEN IS LIFE, Poland’s leading horticultural trade fair, returns to Warsaw this September for its 32nd edition. With new plant varieties, expanding international participation, and a programme tailored to growers and suppliers, the event highlights both market opportunities and the innovations shaping tomorrow’s horticulture.

Plant novelties and consumer trends

At the heart of GREEN IS LIFE is the Plant Novelties Competition, one of the most anticipated moments of the fair. For 2025, twenty new varieties of ornamental and functional plants have been submitted, reflecting the creativity of breeders and the drive of producers to meet evolving consumer preferences.

The competition has both prestige and business value. Winning plants gain visibility in Poland and abroad, while participants benefit from direct feedback from industry, media, and consumers.

With open voting alongside jury decisions, the competition also offers insight into which varieties resonate most with the market—valuable for growers planning production and retailers assessing sales potential.

This spirit of innovation echoes the event’s 2025 motto: “Join the green avant-garde!” — a call to growers, suppliers, and partners to co-create the next chapter of horticulture.

International reach expands

The 2025 edition will welcome 27.5% more foreign exhibitors than last year, underscoring the fair’s expanding role as a European trade hub. Exhibitors and delegations will attend from the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Belgium, France, and—for the first time—Ukraine. Industry professionals from Uzbekistan are also set to visit, while a trade mission of Italian ornamental producers will focus on building connections with Polish partners.

This growth highlights Poland’s strategic position in the horticultural supply chain, offering both domestic and international companies opportunities to collaborate, export, and discover new markets.

A programme for professionals

GREEN IS LIFE combines its wide-ranging exhibition with a programme designed to deliver practical insights for growers and suppliers.

The Knowledge for Trade and Producers seminar covers topics such as AI in sales, Lean Management in nurseries, and biological plant protection. One session features Michael Perry (Mr Plant Geek) on green marketing and practical promotional activities.

Growers and suppliers gain insights into marketing, AI, and production strategies during GREEN IS LIFE’s expert seminar programme.

The Green City Conference addresses issues that directly affect the plant trade, including integrating domestic species in urban projects, strategies for managing invasive plants, and the implementation of the 3-30-300 principle. With case studies from designer Dr Paweł Grobelny and experience from Czech organisation ASITIS (Jaroslava Šmerdová and Miloslav Kaláb), the conference creates a bridge between growers, planners, and decision-makers.

From theory to practice

A distinguishing feature this year is the tighter link between seminars and exhibitors’ stands. For example, a lecture on domestic species for urban greenery will be paired with a list of companies showcasing such plants on the show floor.

“The fair creates a cohesive green system that combines theory with practice and translates knowledge into action,” exclaims Joanna Filipczak, fair director and president, Agencja Promocji Zieleni
“This year, we’re integrating the substantive part—conferences and seminars—even more closely with exhibitors’ displays. Attendees will hear about solutions and then see them at the booth.”

For growers, this creates a seamless connection between knowledge and commercial opportunity—research insights, technical advice, and product demonstrations all under one roof.

Business challenges and market realities

Beyond inspiration, GREEN IS LIFE provides space to discuss the sector’s most pressing challenges: rising production costs, labour shortages, phytosanitary threats, evolving regulations, and increasing demands from wholesale buyers and retail consumers. By combining innovation showcases with open discussions, the fair helps businesses benchmark, problem-solve, and make confident decisions for the season ahead.

A place for the industry

For its 32nd edition, GREEN IS LIFE reaffirms its role as more than a showcase of plants. It is a business platform where growers, suppliers, and partners connect to shape the market together. New varieties point the way to future consumer demand, trade missions open doors to international collaboration, and the expert programme equips professionals with practical tools for production and sales.

By bringing knowledge, products, and people together under one roof, GREEN IS LIFE gives the horticultural industry a unique opportunity to anticipate change, strengthen networks, and identify growth opportunities — in Poland, across Europe, and beyond.
