Brothers Harm and Reinier Hoogendoorn take over the plant nursery’s management from their father and oncle, respectively Koos and Rien Hoogedoorn. Dutch-based AltaNova Group has forty years of experience in production of Stephanotis, perennials and patio plants.

For several years now, Harm and Reinier have proved themselves within the company’s executive management board by taking on a certain responsibilities for the succesful running of the entire group. While Harm oversees all things production, Reinier focuses mostly on sales.

AltaNova Group is situated over five sites in Moerkapelle (Stephanotis), Zevenhuizen (production and distribution hub for Portuguese-grown perennials and patio plants), Luttelgeest Weteringweg (specialising in perennials and run and owned by Geert Jan and Anton Hoogendoorn), Luttelgeest Bloemenweg (perennials) and Cavaleiro/Milfontes Portugal (patio plants and perennials).

A range of distinctive plants flowering in a rainbow of colours, shapes and sizes, including Bougainvillea, Genista, Hebe, Hydrangea, Jasminus, Mandevilla, Passiflora, and Thunbergia are the company’s jewels in the crown. The five AltaNova nurseries combined, the group spans 26ha.

While Harm and Reinier have taken over the reigns, Rien and Koos will continue to work for the company as manager of the Moerkapelle-based Stephanotis nursery and as crop technician for the Portuguese branch respectively.
