Maarten Beekenkamp joins grower alliance Colours of Nature

DE LIER, Netherlands: Colours of Nature, an alliance of leading Dutch growers of mini gerberas, is delighted to announce the appointment of Maarten Beekenkamp as operational director, with effect from 1 October 2020.

At 48, Beekenkamp is a well-known figure in the horticultural scene, having acquired a wealth of experience during his 25-year career. Beekenkamp previously worked at Van Dijk Flora and Syngenta Flowers. “I know about the Colours of Nature from the time I worked for Van Dijk Flora, and I am genuinely impressed with the progress the grower’s group has made.

In his new role as operational director, Beekenkamp and his team will focus on future growth and further optimisation of business processes to serve the European retail even better.

Founded in 2004 is an alliance of leading Dutch mini gerbera growers to promote and sell mini gerberas jointly. To date, the grower’s group includes nine nurseries, covering an area of 32ha and trading under a single brand name. The combined nurseries grow more than 250 million stems of mini gerberas for the floral mass market having made sustainability, trust, quality, and transparency the core elements of their growth strategy.
