Long-awaited Europa Cup in floristry finally to take place in the Polish city of Katowice

KATOWICE, Poland: The European Championship in floristry EUROPA CUP will take place between 26-28 August 2022 at Katowice’s International Congress Centre.

Over the past few months, the after-effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, the war in Ukraine and geopolitical tensions worldwide have left organisers the Polish Florists Association (SFP) and Florint weighing whether they wanted to proceed or postpone the event.

However, Florint and SFP made every possible effort to realise the Europa Cup despite the adverse times.  And they are delighted to announce that after a two-year break the long-awaited Europa Cup will be back in its full glory this summer.

The Europa Cup has been held every four years since 1967 and brings together the very best competitive florists from around Europe and beyond.

This year, national florist champions from 20 countries will battle it out to win Florint’s prestigious Europa Cup.

Attendees await two days jam-packed with first-class floral art. Friday 26 August marks a special day with the world’s most inspirational designers who will pass their knowledge on to their audience. Additionally, Europa Cup has a top-notch educational programme including seminars and workshops.

On Friday, Europa Cup competitors will add the final touches to three championship tasks, finishing their remaining arrangements the next day.

The grand finale is set for Saturday evening 27 August when six finalists will face the final competition task – a surprise challenge – in front of a live audience.

Live art and music will complement the stunning floristry, making for an unforgettable evening.

All of the created floral art pieces will also be on display on Sunday 28 August.

Staging the Europa Cup is Katowice’s modern International Conference Centre. Host city Katowice in South West Poland is known by most Poles as a centre for art, industry and trade.
