Könst Alstroemeria welcomes new CEO Paco van der Louw

RIJSENHOUT, Netherlands: Könst Alstroemeria, a highly specialised plant breeding company in alstroemeria and zantedeschia, is delighted to welcome its new CEO, Paco van der Louw, who started in the post on 1 November 2021.

Paco, aged 43, was formerly working as managing director of Könst Alstroemeria Brazil., one of the most buoyant alstroemeria markets in the world. He is a highly experienced and well-regarded leader in the field of cut flower production. He takes over from founder Hans Könst, who says,  “I am very happy with the appointment of Paco van der Louw as our new CEO.  I expect he will not change much in our style of doing business. He will bring new inspiration and energy to our people and with that will assure a bright future for Könst Alstroemeria.”

Van der Louw has been working and living in Holambra, Brazil for 18 years now since he left the Netherlands. As such he has a thorough understanding of the Latin business culture and traditions.

He is excited to lead Könst Alstroemeria into the future. Van der Louw says, “The company demonstrates that an independent family business can survive in this competitive market. With our unique product range in Alstroemeria and Zantedeschia we can continue to strive for excellence. I want to thank Hans Könst for the trust he shows in me and I am proud to lead the breeding activities that he started 45 years ago.”

Könst Alstroemeria is a leading breeding company in Alstroemeria and Zantedeschia, with its head office in Nieuwveen, The Netherlands and branches in Colombia (Flores La Serena) and Brazil (Könst Selections & Supplies). Founded in 1946 by the Könst family, the company started its breeding activities in Alstroemeria in 1974 and in 2010 expanded to the breeding of Zantedeschia. Könst Alstroemeria is active in more than 40 countries, mainly in Colombia, Ecuador, Brazil, The Netherlands, Japan, Kenya and The United States.

More recently, Könst Alstroemeria announced a partnership with flower breeder and propagator United Selections in its pursuit to meet evolving needs of clients.
