Karma Plants to benefit from automated production lines

BEMMEL, Netherlands: Dutch Anthurium grower Karma Plants will benefit from a fully automated production line.

Karma Plants supplies more than 200 different customers every week, each with their own specific requirements. In recent years, the range of colours and pot sizes has grown considerably. In order to further optimize this delivery process, Karma Plants invests in a new flexible internal logistical system.

In order to make the expansion possible, Karma Plants has chosen the WPS’ SmartFlo conveyor belt system. Glenn Langelaan of Karma Plants and Robert van der Valk of WPS have made a design together in order to transport the Anthuriums within the greenhouse as efficiently possible. With the SmartFlo system, plants can be transported on different routes through the greenhouse.

Founded in 2000, Karma Plants is among Europe major anthurium growers and offers a wide range of potted anthuriums including standard and niche varieties. The modern production facility of Karma Plants enables them to grow their plants in optimal condition all year round. The new extension makes it possible to grow the plants within different departments under even better individual growing conditions. Sustainability also plays an important role at this company and Karma Plants has already taken important steps to be 95% climate neutral by 2021.
