ISU’s Happy Summer Days are here again

BONN, Germany: International perennial breeder, growers, propagators and crop technicians from around the world will convene in Prague, Czech Republic for the 2020 ISU Summer Days. The event will be from 9 August until 13 August.

ISU stands for the International Hardy Plant Union (ISU) and its annual summer meeting offers attendees knowledge sharing and fun. One of the highlights of the event is a visit to ISU’s trial fields.

In 2020, the Botanical Garden in Prague will treat perennials professionals to 55 new test varieties. The ISU-trial commission will present the ISU Awards after a joint, final assessment.

The perennial nurseries in the Czech Republic are very diverse and well-networked both in the country and internationally. ISU Summer Days will take participants onto a company tour including visits to both small and large plant nurseries and trips to the botanical garden in Prague, the dendrological garden in Pruhonice and the arboretum in Brno.

Last year, Poland hosted the event which brought together over 60 participants from 13 countries. Starting in Wrocław the programme, prepared in collaboration with plant propagator Vitroflora from Bygdoszcz, took the participants to five Polish nurseries as well as botanical gardens and private plant collections.
