Home > PeopleUnited Kingdom > Horticultural journalist and Planteria.eu anchor Phil Evans dies at 69
Planteria.eu founder and horticultural journalist Phil Evans has died, his family confirmed on Thursday, 12 January. He was 69.
His health was in decline for some time, but his sudden death shocked many in our industry.
Phil Evans was the founder of Planteria.eu, a local news platform for the European plant sector and beyond. Launched by Phil in October 2013, it rapidly established itself at the forefront of the online news media for ornamental horticulture.
Publishing editor Phil Evans was well-known throughout the ornamentals sector, having launched Planteria Magazine in the U.K. in 2004. The concept of providing plant news to a specific profile of plant buyers has continued since and been developed via Planteria.eu and indeed expanded to include news from around the world.
Phil leaves his partner Lucy, who looked after him and cared for him at home in Cyprus.
