AMSTERDAM, Netherlands: GreenTech looks back on a successful fourth edition. With a growth of almost 20%, the horticultural fair was visited more frequently than ever this year. So it worked out well to turn it into an annual event.

Nine out of ten visitors said they will definitely be present again next year. For three days plenty of knowledge was shared, business undertaken and trends discussed. In addition, much attention was paid to the countless innovations and new products that have been developed in the past year. GreenTech took place on 11, 12 and 13 June in RAI Amsterdam.

In three days a total of 12,489 professionals from 114 countries attended the event. The five best-represented countries were the US, Germany, China, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. The visitors appreciated the innovative nature of the fair. Three-quarters were positive about the quality of innovations and new products.

Mariska Dreschler, Director Horticulture GreenTech: “I am very happy with the results of GreenTech 2019: a positive atmosphere, a lot of activity and a large turnout at the knowledge sessions. All kinds of side activities were organised and there was also a lot of young talent who wanted to find out more about what the thriving horticulture sector has to offer. The addition of medicinal cannabis as a new segment was also a good decision. “

Positive reactions from visitors

The visitors were inspired by the fair. Some quotes: “Exhibitors and world-class speakers attract high-quality visitors from all over the world, making it even easier to collaborate across borders,” and “GreenTech has exceeded my expectations. Well organised, relevant topics and interesting exhibitors and speakers. Absolutely worth the visit. ”

Launch of GreenTech Americas

GreenTech crosses the border: on the first day of the exhibition, it was announced that the first edition of GreenTech Americas will take place in Mexico in 2020. This fair is organized because of the market potential for horticulture, the enormous increase in agricultural production and the country’s area of covered cultivation. GreenTech Americas 2020 will take place from 24 to 26 March 2020 in Querétaro. The event is organised by RAI Amsterdam in collaboration with Tarsus. Tarsus is part of the global company Tarsus Group plc, a leading organiser in Mexico.
