Italy’s horticultural sector is worth €3.2 billion, with 70% of production destined for export. Known worldwide for quality and innovation, Italian growers are now preparing to showcase their excellence on home ground at GreenItaly 2025 — a new international exhibition dedicated to “Made in Italy” horticulture and landscape.
Organised by Fiere di Parma, GreenItaly will run alongside Mercanteinfiera — Italy’s largest antiques and design fair, which attracts tens of thousands of international visitors — ensuring strong synergies and a broad international audience.
Exhibitors at GreenItaly will include leading nurseries such as Giorgio Tesi Vivai Group, Romiti Vivai, Innocenti & Mangoni Piante, Compagnia del Lago, and Vivai Piante Battistini. Suppliers of materials and machinery will also be present, including Granulati Zandobbio, Gruppo Industriale Tegolaia, and Peruzzo. Visitors can expect to explore resilient plant varieties, cutting-edge agricultural machinery, smart technologies, and the latest outdoor design solutions.
The three-day programme will feature a keynote by Portuguese landscape architect João Ferreira Nunes, followed by a panel on corporate green design with business leaders from Crédit Agricole and the Davines Group.
Internationally recognised garden designers Matthew Butler and Josh Parker — gold medal winners for their Gates Foundation Show Garden at RHS Chelsea — will take part in a session on new approaches to landscape design. This panel will be moderated by Dr Audrey Timm, Technical Initiatives Manager at AIPH, highlighting the association’s role in connecting global expertise with the Italian industry.

Other highlights include seminars on biodiversity, agroecology, sponge city techniques, and urban resilience, as well as a comparative session on the role of international garden shows, featuring RHS, Jardins Jardin, Euroflora, and Orticolario.
On 16 October, ANVE (Associazione Nazionale Vivaisti Esportatori) — Italy’s national nursery exporters’ association and an AIPH member — will host a technical conference on the new frontiers of nursery farming. Topics will include production, commercialisation, phytosanitary defence, and the management of emerging pathogens.
The exhibition will also shine a spotlight on skills development. Through the Green for Jobs initiative, GreenItaly will connect labour demand and supply in the sector, engaging schools, universities, and training institutes to prepare professionals for the challenges of climate change, species adaptation, and resilient urban design.
“The city of the 21st century requires extreme competence in designing urban green spaces,” said Mauro Uniformi, President of CONAF (National Council of Agronomists and Foresters). “It is no longer enough to select species — we must integrate design with urban realities, resilience, and inclusivity.”
Supported by ITA – Italian Trade Agency, GreenItaly will welcome 150 international buyers to Parma, reinforcing Italy’s export strength and creating new opportunities for collaboration. “Horticulture confirms itself as an advanced expression of Made in Italy where agricultural tradition, landscape culture, and sustainability intertwine in a virtuous balance,” said ITA President Matteo Zoppas.
GreenItaly is designed as a unified platform for growers, designers, institutions, and international buyers to exchange knowledge, discover innovations, and imagine the landscapes of tomorrow. As the organisers summarise: “Green is no longer just decoration but a necessity. Resilient cities begin with nurseries, public health is built with trees, beauty is designed with plants.”
