POZNAŃ, Poland: New horticultural season is coming soon. But before spring settles for good on our balconies, terraces and in the gardens, it is worth preparing for this season properly. Where to find original species of potted plants, trees or shrubs? Where to get knowledge on new irrigation or fertilization developments? The answer is: at the GARDENIA Fair that will be held on 22-24 February in Poznań.
The desire to commune with nature and plants is deeply rooted in the nature of men. This contact provides a lot of pleasure and positive emotions. Therefore, it is no surprise that nowadays urban residents feel the growing need to be surrounded by greenery, and the popularity of urban gardening is growing. In the west, designing gardens for local communities is based primarily on organic cultivation. Also flowers that cheer people up are of great importance. They help us focus and relax.
Inspiration, knowledge, new plant varieties
GARDENIA is a perfect place to learn about new varieties of plants and flowers,
as well as a wide range of trees, shrubs, cereal, grass and vegetable seeds. In the exhibition halls you will also find new models of gardening tools and equipment. Attending the GARDENIA Fair will also result in gaining knowledge on new products in the category of peats, substrates, irrigation accessories, as well as elements of small garden architecture. GARDENIA means great number of inspirations and an opportunity to learn about garden design or creating durable plant compositions on terraces or balconies.
Show gardens
For all lovers of greenery, GARDENIA is a must-see before the start of the new gardening season, as a place where new ideas will be born. The Fair is also an opportunity to see new trends that can be easily adapted to your garden. Interesting ideas for beautiful plant arrangements will be provided for example in Hall 6. You will find there show gardens prepared as part of the “Inspirational Arrangements” competition, which for years has been one of the most interesting attractions at the GARDENIA Fair. This year, the theme of the gardens is a “A City Wanderer.” Many beautiful plant compositions can also be found on the stands of Polish and foreign manufacturers located in Hall 3A. All looking for new plant solutions, planning to fulfil their dream of a sheltered garden enclave, are invited to the green Hall.
Start your gardening adventure in Poznań
The GARDENIA Fair is a good place for both experienced gardeners and people who are just starting their horticultural adventure. Much valuable advice on the care of different plant species will be provided by Marek Jezierski, co-author of the “Rok w ogrodzie” (“A Year in the Garden”) TV programme, who once again during the GARDENIA Fair will conduct a project entitled “Dream Garden Created with Passion.” Participation in this event is a guarantee of obtaining tips concerning sowing, growing vegetables and plants, as well as the answer to the question of how to prune them properly. Marek Jezierski will also present proven solutions for lawn care or weeding. The project “Dream Garden Created with Passion” is supported by the following companies: COMPO Polska, Fiskars, Marolex, Vilmorin and JMP Flowers.
600 exhibitors, 5 exhibition halls, plenty of attractions
The GARDENIA Fair participants need to prepare for very intensive three days. Products and services will be presented by over 600 exhibitors from all over the world, who, in addition to hundreds of new products, will also show well-known bestsellers at the exhibition. During the tour of the exposition located in five halls and occupying the surface area of 35,000 m2, the enthusiasts of home gardens should necessarily take part in several interesting accompanying events. On the first day of the GARDENIA Fair, 22 February, the Urban Garden Art Forum will be held. The theme of the event will be “City for Nature.” The meeting with specialists is an excellent opportunity to reflect on how far human interference in urban nature has gone.
Also the training in the field of sales strategy in the company, which will be hosted by experienced consultants and coaches from 4Results, promises to be interesting.
If you want to get some sales knowledge, you will have an opportunity to meet practitioners in the field of effective customer service, increasing the shopping cart value and effective product rotation, who on Friday, 23 February, will host the 2nd edition of the Congress of Horticultural Industry Leaders.
During the GARDENIA Fair, also the 3rd LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTS FORUM will be held, where ideas on the combination of two spaces – home and garden – will be presented.
Bloggers, vloggers, administrators of Facebook or Instagram profiles referring to the topic of gardening, as well as the general public, are all invited to participate in the Horticulture Promoters Forum. The programme of events will be enriched by garden design workshops and advice provided as part of the Design Emergency Service. On 24 February, which will be the last day of the GARDENIA Fair, the role of plants in people’s everyday life will be discussed by Diana Szczęsna, a botanist at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University of Wrocław.
Horticultural sale and floristic shows
During the GARDENIA Fair, it will be also possible to purchase plants and tools. The enthusiasts of pot and bedding flowers, and owners of fruit trees and decorative shrubs are invited to participate in the Garden Sale. Greenery lovers will find there something for themselves – and, what is more,
in very favourable prices. The sale exhibitors will include, among others, garden centres, gardeners, nurserymen, as well as companies offering healthy garden food products.
Simultaneously with GARDENIA, SPECIAL DAYS Holiday and Special Occasion Products Fair will be also held, as part of which numerous floristic shows will be presented. The offer will be complemented by modern playgrounds, safe and comfortable outdoor gyms, swimming pools, saunas, garden tubs, SPA & wellness zones, which will be presented at the SPORT INVEST Sport and Leisure Industry Fair.
