Forbes crowns Giorgio Tesi Group the ‘Queen of Green’ in recognition of its green credentials

The American business magazine Forbes features Giorgio Tesi Group in its April Small Giants supplement, highlighting half a century of commitment to quality and dedication in wholesale plant growing and trading.

Giorgio Tesi’s company profile in Forbes is yet another remarkable achievement of a company that began as a family-run business and has now become a truly green industry, one of the most important European companies in the ornamental plant nursery sector.

In January, the Giorgio Tesi Group won Silver in the Finished Plants & Trees category of AIPH’s International Grower of the Year Awards at IPM Essen. It was the first Italian nursery company to reach the finals and receive an award, an excellent result for the entire Italian and continental sectors.

Giorgio Tesi’s accolades are because of its incredible attention as it grows and develops a commitment to environmental sustainability and the development of technological innovation and production processes.

Giorgi Tesi is certified under GLOBAL G.A.P’s Integrated Farm Assurance (IFA) standard for flowers and ornamentals. This certification is aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), addresses plant health and product quality issues, and includes a renewed focus on sustainability. This attention includes the health and safety of workers and the controlling and monitoring of energy, water, plant protection products, peat, and fertilisers (nitrogen and phosphorous).

A label that demonstrates that products have been grown according to responsible and certified practices also increases the transparency of the supply chain, thanks to the source of information on the product’s origins, which guarantees the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability and the rational use of production factors. Environmental protection is at the heart of the certification philosophy that monitors the application of good agricultural practices in the field, the core of the company’s production method.
