With more than 5,000 visitors from over 90 countries, FlowerTrials 2025 once again cemented its status as a key international platform for the ornamental plant industry. Held across the Middle and South of the Netherlands, the event brought together breeders, growers, retailers, and influencers to explore the latest developments in pot and bedding plant genetics and presentation from 10 to 13 June.
This year’s edition saw an increase in the average number of visited locations—up to six per visitor—indicating a growing appetite to go beyond familiar suppliers and explore new breeding innovations. With many host locations featuring multiple companies, the average visitor connected with approximately 14 exhibitors during the week.

Marjolein Kuyucu-Lodder, Chairwoman of the FlowerTrials committee, remarked on the diversity of attendees: “The mix of nationalities travelling the Middle and South regions of the Netherlands last week was super impressive. From Brazil to Australia, from Canada to Kenya, FlowerTrials has truly established itself as the key event for professionals in pot and bedding plants worldwide. Furthermore, I am pleased to see that visitors tend to visit more locations. In addition to reconnecting with your existing network, FlowerTrials is the ideal event to discover different plant genetics and widen your horizon.”

The 2025 edition featured 56 breeders showcasing new genetics and product lines. However, it wasn’t just about the plants—exhibitors made a notable effort to present their varieties in compelling, retail-ready formats. Eye-catching displays, mixed containers, bold colour combinations, and on-trend marketing materials added creative flair to the week’s events, highlighting how breeders are supporting commercial partners in telling stronger stories at the point of sale.
“FlowerTrials is the best place to view the major breeders together,” said a visitor from Jordan. “It takes only one event to see all the main innovations in the industry.” UK-based plant influencer Michael Perry added: “The displays that exhibitors put together are so inspirational, I cannot imagine ever not attending!”
The next edition of FlowerTrials will take place from 9 to 12 June 2026, once again during Week 24—marking a now firmly established date in the international horticultural calendar.
